The present invention relates to a process for preparing polymeric electrically conducting nanofibrous material and the preparation process is characterized in that the spun nanofibers are subjected to chemical metal spraying comprising the step of applying a metal salt onto the surface of nanofibers and the step of reducing the metal by means of a reducing agent. The invention also relates to a polymeric electrically conducting nanofibrous material that is prepared by the above-described process.
