A slurry acidification system (2) is provided for mounting on a vehicle (30). The slurry acidification system (2) comprises: - a tank (4) arranged for storing an acid or an acidic liquid, - a pump (52) provided in fluid communication with the tank (4), wherein the pump (52) is adapted for dosing the acid or acid-containing liquid for an internal unit or for an external unit (92). The slurry acidification system (2) comprises a level meter (110) adapted for automatic detection of overfilling of the tank (4) in the form of detecting one or more predefined liquid levels (A, B, C), the slurry acidification system (2) furthermore comprises means for disconnecting the pump (52) in case of overfilling the tank (4).
