A system and method for controlled and regulated communication within and outside a hospital. This invention relates to enabling communications between a plurality of entities, and more particularly to enabling communications between a plurality of entities, when the entities comprise of a hospitalized patient with a family member, a friend, a colleague, and the like, both remotely and within a hospital. Embodiments herein disclose a system which permits an audio-visual communication between patients and visitors including remote visitors and where visitors cannot physically visit the hospital, as well as within the hospital in cases where the patient is admitted in an Intensive care Unit (ICU), quarantined or isolated. Embodiments herein also propose a method, wherein the hospital authorities have exclusive and full control over the system, while permitting audio-visual communication between patients and visitors.
