摘要

A process for preparation of wear resistant ceramic tiles using fly ash and comprising the steps of: mixing 50 to 80% fly ash with low carbon content, 20-40% clay materials, 0-20% red mud and 0-1% binder (such as dextrin or glue) to form a mix; subjecting the said mix to pass 200-240 mesh either through dry processing or through wet processing followed by spray drying to get the mix ready to be pressed; subjecting the mix to the step of compaction in a hydraulic press for required shape and size; slow drying the pressed green tiles from ambient to 900 �C and holding for 1-2 h at 800-900 �C followed by sintering the pressed and preheated tiles in a heat treatment furnace at a temperature from 1100-1200 �C for 1-2 h; designing and polishing of the fired tiles.
