Hypertension is defined as an abnormal elevation in diastolic pressure and/or systolic pressure; mean arterial pressure is also elevated in hypertension, but it is not usually measured in people. In past years, the diastolic value was emphasized in assessing hypertension. However, elevations in systolic pressure ("systolic hypertension") are also associated with increased incidence of coronary and cerebrovascular disease (e.g., stroke). Fixed dose combination antihypertensive therapy has many advantages over other treatment options. Positive effects on blood pressure control, rates of adherence, adverse effects and cost have been identified. Using a combination of hypertensive drugs is recommended in patients with hypertension and co-morbidities or risk. Fast-dissolving solid drug dosage forms for application onto the oral cavity for the hypertensive emergency patients seem to be very appropriate, especially in ambulatory and bedridden patient. The delivery of drugs via the oral mucosa offers easy application, prevents drug degradation by gastrointestinal fluids, avoids first-pass metabolism and potentially improves bioavailability (with rapid drug absorption and fast onset of drug action. This present research work for patent is envisaged for this critical especially hypertensive patient with high risk.
