The special purpose tool designed & developed for Engine alignment w.r.t. IDS, is a miniature and reliable. The tool has a st urdy steel tubes, one slides inside the. other. The outer sleeve and inner sleeve are fastened to the MGB input shaft flange and engine output shaft through flange plate, which are welded to sleeves. The tool is compact and its weight is optimized. This ensures portab ility, which facilitates the mounting directly on the helicopter transmission deck, for carrying out Engine Alignment. The design & build of the tool along with its robustness ensures the critical engine alignment function and produced to the required safety of the engine and Main gear box. This in turn ensures the required quality to be maintained and cycle time for the operation is reduced.
