MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING: DESIGNING INDEXABLE INSERTS FOR SPECIAL-PURPOSE ASSEMBLED CUTTING TOOLS

We describe a technique for computer modeling of indexable cutting inserts for assembled tools and present examples of inserts with equistrength front-surface profile, composite inserts, uniform-wear inserts, and inserts with improved chip-breaking properties.
