FRICTION PLUG WELDING EXPERIMENTAL SETUP WITH ON-LINE HEATING ARRANGEMENT

摘要

ABSTRACT Friction plug welding has many promising applications in many fields of engineering. To minimize cracking and improving the joint strength, the present investigation discloses on-line heating arrangement in the experimental set up of friction plug welding machine. On�line heating is performed by a pair of induction coils that can be operated with set temperature. The present invention helps to perform preheating and post heating of the components within the friction plug welding machine itself. Since, stress is relieved and cracks are minimised, joint strength are improved because of the use of on-line heating arrangement.
