PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a rotary friction welding equipment to be miniaturized by reducing friction torque in rotary friction welding.;SOLUTION: A tapered plug 2a is formed in a truncated cone shape, with the conical angle α set smaller than the angle β formed by a tapered hole 3; the tapered plug 2a, when inserted into the tapered hole 3, is made to come into contact with the tapered hole 3 only at the tip end of the plug 2a; and, welding is performed successively from the tip end part, thereby preventing a large friction torque from generating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
