The present invention relates to a support element with independent self-support, such that books, magazines, mobile electronic devices, games, food and other elements that can be used by a seated user, can rest thereon by placing a surface of the self-supporting support element between the user and the surface on which he or she sits. The user acts as a counter-weight that keeps the support element in place and allows the weight rested on the support surface to be supported.
