A can end cap for a can, in particular for a beverage can, comprising: a lid plate (2), made of a sheet material, and including an upper side (3) and a lower side ( 4) and a peripheral wall (5) surrounding the upper side of the cover plate, and in which, between the peripheral wall and a fixing spindle (6) placed in the cover plate, a detachment area is formed (7) with a detachment part (8), in which the detachment portion is defined circumferentially, at least predominantly, by a predetermined break line (9), and an opening flange (20), made with a sheet material, and which includes a pressure part (21) and a clamping part (22) and which is rotatably attached to the fixing spindle by means of a clamping tongue (23), which is formed in the pressure part within a notch (24) of the opening flange between the pressure part and the clamping part tion, in which a sealing element (25) protruding downwards with a sealing edge (26) extending, closed on itself like a ring, around the circumferential contour of the sealing element, is formed on the lower side of the clamping part similar to a plate by means of a sunken recessed area in relation to the upper part of the clamping part, so that the pressure part (21) in the rotating opening position of the opening flange can be pressed down to separate the detachment part (8) of the cover plate along the predetermined break line (9) and create an opening (10) in the cover plate, and in which the opening can be sealed from again by means of the sealing edge (26) of the sealing element (25) by pressing down on the clamping part (22) in a sealing position after rotating the opening flange around the fixing spindle in a rotating closing position,wherein a ring wall (11), which in regard to its height is at an angle in relation to the upper part of the cover plate, extends around the detachment area (7) of the plate cover (2), in which the ring wall has an inner circumferential contour along its inner side that is closed in itself as a ring between the fixing spindle (16), mounted outside the circumferential contour of the wall of ring, and the peripheral wall (5) of the cover plate and the ring wall that surrounds a cavity (12) with a lower part, where the detachment part (8) is formed, characterized in that the detachment part (8) in the lower part of the cavity (12) is surrounded by an inner angular end in the form of a ring (30) and a radial separation is provided between the contour of the predetermined breaking line (9) surrounding the part of detachment, and the inner contour of the wall ring (11), so that an inner edge similar to a flange (31) is created in the lower part of the cavity surrounded by the ring wall, and the inner angular edge in the form of a closed ring (30) is formed together by the inner edge similar to a flange (31) and the lower edge of the inner face of the ring wall (11), and in which the sealing edge (26) of the sealing element (25) of the flange of opening (20) with respect to the circumferential contour of the sealing edge is formed in a complementary manner to said inner circumferential contour of the ring wall (11) and is coupled to the inner face of the ring wall (11) at along said outer circumferential contour of the sealing edge while the inner angular end (30) is overlapped by an outer angular end in the form of a ring (28) of the sealing element (25) of the clamping part (22) when the part clamping (22) is in its position of shut up.
