A nucleic acid construct (or construct) comprising: (a) a bacterial or bacteriophage promoter operatively associated with a coding sequence for a single stranded dimer of RNA bacteriophage coating polypeptides, comprising a primary polypeptide coding sequence of 'upstream' coating and a secondary downstream polypeptide coding sequence (downstream), so that the downstream coating polypeptide coding sequence 'comprises a site for insertion of a heterologous coding sequence; (b) an origin of replication for replication in a prokaryotic; (c) a gene with antibiotic resistance; and (d) a translation stop codon located at the junction between the 'upstream' and 'downstream' polypeptide coding sequences.
