MRNA assay E6, E7 HPV and methods of use thereof

An in vitro assay for determining malignant transformation of cervical cells, assay comprising identifying and quantifying mRNA expression of E6, E7 HPV in cervical cells on a per cell basis, wherein malignant transformation of the cervical cells is indicated by expression of 10-500 copies of mRNA E6, E7 HPV per cell.
