A lithium-manganese-cobalt complex oxide is prepared comprising plate-shaped secondary particles aggregated by means of the plate surfaces of a plurality of plate-shaped primary particles overlapping, the shape resulting from projecting in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the plate-shaped primary particles is a sphere, an ellipse, an oval, or the planar projection of a blocky object, the aspect ratio of the secondary particles is 3-20, and the volume average particle size (Mv) according to a laser diffraction scattering method measurement is 4-20 μm.
