The invention relates to a device for damping pressure and/or volume fluctuations in a fluid flow, in particular in a blood flow. Here, it is provided that the device (1) has a pressure-tight chamber (2) and a line (5) for conducting the fluid flow through the chamber (2) under the action of a delivery pressure (p_F), wherein the line (5) has a first section (6) composed of an elastic material, which first section has a first cross section when the chamber pressure (p_K) acting within the chamber (2) corresponds to the ambient pressure (p_U), and that, when the first section (6) is not flowed through by the fluid or when the delivery pressure (p_F) is lower than the chamber pressure (p_K), the chamber pressure (p_K) is set to a value which effects a constriction of the cross section of the first section (6) of the line (5) to a second cross section.
