The invention relates to a device for damping pressure and/or volume fluctuations in a fluid flow, in particular in a blood flow. Here, it is provided that the device (1) has a pressure-tight chamber (2) and a line (5) for conducting the fluid flow through the chamber (2) under the action of a delivery pressure (pF), wherein the line (5) has a first section (6) composed of an elastic material, which first section has a first cross section when the chamber pressure (pK) acting within the chamber (2) corresponds to the ambient pressure (pU), and that, when the first section (6) is not flowed through by the fluid or when the delivery pressure (pF) is lower than the chamber pressure (pK), the chamber pressure (pK) is set to a value which effects a constriction of the cross section of the first section (6) of the line (5) to a second cross section.
