An autopoietic information processing system which collects and outputs information, the information processing system comprising a means for inputting first information; a means for collecting second information associated with the first information; a means for selecting third information from the second information; a means for outputting the second information or the third information; a means for collecting second information using the third information as new first information; a means for merging existing second information with new second information at a prescribed ratio; a means for selecting new third information from the merged second information; and a means for outputting the merged second information or the new third information; wherein the information processing system operates recursively.
