According to the present invention, presented are a method and a system for detecting, in a night environment, danger due to the presence of a pedestrian, for an advanced driver assistance system, the method and the system setting a scaling ratio and a pedestrian discovery region and detecting a pedestrian window so as to reduce processing time and quickly detect a pedestrian, and setting a reference line and judging a danger-posing pedestrian by considering the traveling direction of a vehicle, so as to more accurately determine the level of danger due to the presence of the pedestrian.
