An expressway capable of preventing illegal occupation of an emergency lane, comprising an intermediate zone (1), an overtaking lane (4), a traffic lane (5), an emergency lane (6) and an earth shoulder (7) which are successively connected to one another, wherein the width of the emergency lane (6) is 1.6-1.8m; and the intermediate zone (1) consists of a central barrier zone (2) and an inner marginal strip (3). Car owners on the expressway can mutually and consciously supervise each other, thereby preventing few car owners from illegally occupying an emergency lane.
