Provided is a method for estimating the initial creep strength of a heat-resistant member which is capable of quickly estimating the initial creep strength of a heat-resistant member by using a comparatively simple operation. The method involves: deriving a breakage-time LMP by using a relational expression on the basis of creep test results (S2); obtaining a creep strength diagram of the heat-resistant member, on the basis of the breakage-time LMP and a design creep strength diagram expressing the relationship between the LMP and stress in the heat-resistant member (S3); estimating the equivalent average operation temperature on the basis of the condition of the carbide in the heat-resistant member (S4); deriving the remaining service life of the heat-resistant member by using a relational expression, on the basis of the heat-resistant member creep strength diagram and the equivalent average operation temperature (S5); deriving the total service life of the heat-resistant member on the basis of the remaining service life of the heat-resistant member and the operation time of the heat-resistant member (S6); deriving the total service life LMP by using a relational expression, on the basis of the total service life of the heat-resistant member and the equivalent average operation temperature (S7); and deriving an initial creep strength diagram of the heat-resistant member by using the design creep strength diagram, on the basis of the total service life LMP (S8).
