Method of detecting the presence of a target nucleic acid sequence in a biological specimen through the LAMP technique, wherein the primers designed for synthesising and/or amplifying regions of the target nucleic acid sequence are primers specific for genes coding for β-lactamases, such as for instance genes coding for carbapenemases, in particular genes IMP, NDM, OXA, VIM and KPC, or genes responsible for the resistance to methicillins, in particular genes MecA, or genes coding for extended spectrum β-lactamases, in particular genes SHV. The invention also provides sequences that can be used as such primers.
