VIRUS-DERIVED RNA SILENCING USING TSL MUTATION

The present invention relates to a mechanism which uses TSL (serine/threonine protein kinase, tousled) or a homologous gene thereof from Arabidopsis and other plants to induce the transcription of a virus and to engage specifically in gene silencing. Specifically, TSI mutation can affect extrinsic gene silencing without affecting at all the endogenous production or activation of miRNA or tasiiRNA that plants inherently have, thereby minimizing side effects for RNAi technology. Therefore, the present invention can be usefully employed in inhibiting copying of plant viruses, reducing virus proteins or virus vector-mediated recombination proteins, enhancing the virus resistance of farming goods, and the like.
