摘要

The present invention relates to a method for searching for a sialic acid transferase mutant, a characteristic of the variant, a gene encoding the sialic acid transferase mutant enzyme, and the synthesis of sialyl oligosaccharides using the gene. The present invention provides an α-2,3-sialyltransferase derived from Pasteurella and an α-2,6-sialyltransferase derived from a photobacterium, which are improved through protein engineering mutations. In addition, the sialic acid transferase variants of the present invention reduce side reactions in the 3'- and 6'-sialyl oligosaccharide production reactions, increase productivity and thereby reduce production costs.
