The present invention relates to a photocatalyst having enhanced extinction in the visible light absorption band and efficiency by applying amorphous titanium oxide on quantum dots in the form of a thin shell, and a method for manufacturing the photocatalyst. The present invention provides the photocatalyst having enhanced extinction in the visible light absorption band and efficiency by applying the amorphous titanium oxide on the quantum dots in the form of a thin shell. The amorphous titanium oxide coated on the surface of the quantum dots in the form of a thin film provides a wider reaction site and surface area by trap sites due to a defect, thereby enhancing reaction efficiency. In addition, the photocatalyst in accordance with the present invention comprises the quantum dots and titanium oxide formed in a complex, thereby effectively performing a photocatalytic reaction in the UV and visible light absorption bands.
