A process for producing barium titanate and barium titanate produced by the process is disclosed. The disclosed process for preparing barium titanate comprises heating to a temperature above the synthesis temperature of barium titanate to increase the crystallinity. In addition, barium titanate produced by the above method may have a high crystallinity and narrow particle size distribution.
