The present invention relates to a gene (ACP-16) specifically expressed in a posterior silk gland, to a promoter having a nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3, and to uses thereof. According to the present invention, a promoter of a novel gene (ACP-16) and a vector comprising the same have capacity for inducing posterior silk gland-specific gene expression. Therefore, the transformed silkworm is industrially useful by using the same, capable of producing a silk thread or a silk gland containing foreign protein, and improving a silk thread by pigment gene expression and convenience of a process for refining foreign protein.
