Provided in the present invention is a method for manufacturing polyethylene oxide including different functional groups on both chain terminals using a phthalimide-based functional initiator. According to the manufacturing method of the present invention, the phthalimide-based functional initiator is used to manufacture polyethylene oxide having an amino group on one chain terminal and various different functional groups on the other chain terminal in high yield, while controlling molecular weight.
