Disclosed are a video display method for generating a subtitle based on ambient noise, and a user terminal. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the video display method comprises the following steps: generating a subtitle from a voice signal included in a video by using voice recognition when the measured ambient noise is not included in tolerance during the video play; and displaying the generated subtitle with the video.
