The present invention relates to a method for producing 13-hydroxylioleic acid and a composition thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for producing 13-hydroxylioleic acid in a high yield using Burkholderia thailandensis-derived lipoxygenase by optimizing a reaction condition of linoleic acid so as to carry out a reaction under an optimized condition. According to the present invention, production of 13-hydroxylioleic acid in high yield in an eco-friendly way with high specificity. In addition, the 13-hydroxylioleic acid produced thereby can be used in various industrial fields as a raw material.
