Disclosed are a smart parking assistant system (SPAS) and a method for controlling a sensor operation cycle by the same, the SPAS capable of preventing interference among sensors by controlling an operation cycle of ultrasonic sensors for the SPAS. The SPAS comprises: a control unit generally controlling the SPAS; PAS sensors installed in a specific position of the front and the rear side of a vehicle, connecting to the control unit with a first channel, transmitting an ultrasonic signal depending on a command message received from the control unit and transmitting, to the control unit, a measurement value of a received reflective signal in response to the transmitted ultrasonic signal; and SPAS sensors installed in a specific position of the sides of the vehicle, connecting to the control unit and a second channel, transmitting the ultrasonic signal separately from the PAS sensor depending on a command message received from the control unit and transmitting, to the control unit, the measurement value of the received reflective signal in response to the transmitted ultrasonic signal. The control unit controls the PAS sensors and the SPAS sensors respectively according to predetermined scheduling, and synchronizes operation of the SPAS sensors to the operation cycle of the PAS sensors when an SPAS operation command is inputted from the outside during the operation of the PAS sensors.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
