The present invention provides a syringe pump and a control method thereof, wherein the syringe comprises: an input unit for inputting a flow rate of injection of a drug; an internal diameter measuring unit for measuring the internal diameter of a syringe equipped; a driving unit which applies pressure to a plunger of the syringe and moves the same at a certain speed; and a control unit which calculates the moving speed of the plunger based on the internal diameter measured in the internal diameter measuring unit, and controls the driving unit.
