Disclosed are an automated diagnosis system for craniosynostosis, comprising an image capturing unit, an image processing unit, an operation unit, and an automated diagnosis unit, and an automated diagnosis method for craniosynostosis using the same. The image capturing unit captures images of the skull of a patient. The image processing unit extracts reference planes for diagnosing craniosynostosis from the images captured by the image capturing unit to segment the skull. The operation unit extracts 2D shape descriptors from the skull images processed by the image processing unit. The automated diagnosis unit automatically diagnoses craniosynostosis from the 2D shape descriptors extracted by the operation unit and correlation between the 2D shape descriptors.
