In the automatic diagnosis system for cortical union syndrome and the automatic diagnosis method for cortical union syndrome using the same, the system for automatically diagnosing cortical union syndrome includes an image capturing unit, an image processing unit, an operation unit and an automatic diagnosis unit. The image capturing unit captures a skull image of the patient. The image processing unit extracts reference planes for diagnosis of cortical union in an image taken by the image capturing unit, and divides the skull. The operation unit extracts 2D shape descriptors from the skull image processed through the image processing unit. The automatic diagnosis unit automatically diagnoses the cortical bone union from the association between the two-dimensional shape descriptors extracted through the operation unit and the descriptors.
