The present invention relates to a fuel saving method caused by inertia while an automobile is being driven on a road, and more specifically, to a a fuel saving method using a fuel pump, a starting switch, a speed change lever, and an accelerator for utilizing inertia generated when an automobile is being driven on a road at high speed. The fuel saving method caused by inertia while an automobile is being driven on a road, is characterized in that fuel supply is discontinued when reaching a maximum speed using attachment and detachment of two wires fixed by welding on two contact points of a push button switch whose return spring is removed by setting a certain speed section (e.g. a minimum speed of 80 km/h to a maximum speed of 100 km/h); friction of a speed change device is reduced by shifting to an N-range of the speed change lever; the accelerator is restored to an original position to be driven by inertia; fuel is supplied by operating the fuel pump when reaching the maximum speed; the starting switch is operated; the speed change lever is shifted from the N-range to a D-range; inertia is generated by driving force by maintaining a pressed state of the accelerator.
