The present invention relates to a method for preparing BiVO_4-supported titanium oxide from which titanium oxide containing fine BiVO_4 supported therein can be obtained. The present invention also relates to titanium oxide containing fine BiVO_4 supported therein and an antiviral composition having high antiviral activity in a bright place free from UV light. The BiVO_4-supported titanium oxide according to the present invention has a number average particle diameter of 100 nm or less. The antiviral composition according to the present invention comprises titanium oxide and a diavalent copper compound. The method for preparing BiVO_4-supported titanium oxide according to the present invention comprises the steps of: combining titanium oxide, bismuth compound, vanadium compound, bismuth ion-EDTA complexing agent forming an ethylenediamine tetraacetate complex with bismuth ion, urea and water to obtain a suspension of titanium oxide having a pH of 5.0 or less; and heating the suspension of titanium oxide.
