Disclosed are a wire rod for drawing, a high-strength steel wire having excellent torsional properties, and a manufacturing method thereof. One aspect of the present invention provides a wire rod for drawing, including acicular bainite of 95% or higher of surface integral rate (including 100%), comprising: 0.05-0.2 wt% of carbon (C); 0.5-1.5 wt% of silicon (Si); 1.5-3.5 wt% of manganese (Mn); 0.01 wt% or lower of nitrogen (N); 0.02 wt% or lower of phosphorus (P); 0.02 wt% or lower of sulfur (S); and the remaining consisting of iron (Fe) and unavoidable impurities. The present invention provides a wire rod for drawing where direct drawing is possible without lead patenting thermal treatment; and a high-strength steel wire having excellent torsional properties using the same, and a manufacturing method thereof.
