The present invention relates to a method for predicting change in water quality characteristic of mine drainage according to time, in which the change in the water quality characteristic is previously estimated and analyzed according to the time as acid mine drainage containing iron interacts with surrounding environments. According to the present invention, the method includes the steps of: (a) acquiring a measured value by measuring a plurality of water quality factors of the mine drainage at a predetermined time interval; (b) inputting a first measured value (measured at time point T) in the step (a) into a plurality of governing equations for the simulation of the change of the water quality factors according to the time to acquire estimation values of the water quality factors at time point T+1, and to acquire estimation values of the water quality factors at a present time point using estimation values acquired at a time point immediately before a time point T+N (N=2,3,4...) according to the time, thereby acquiring the estimation values of the water quality factors according to the time; (c) determining the governing equation by correcting a velocity constant value included in the governing equation by determining the deviation between the measured value measured in the step (a) and the estimation value estimated in the step (b); and (d) estimating the change of the water quality factors of the mine drainage according to the time using the determined governing equation.
