The present invention relates to the novel use of cinnamon oil, benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde, and more specifically, to a composition including cinnamon oil, benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde as an active ingredient to control a plant pathogenic bacterium. According to the present invention, cinnamon oil, and benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde which is a main ingredient of the cinnamon oil show excellent antibacterial activity against Acidovorax avenae subsp. citrulli which is a pathogenic bacterium causing bacterial fruit rottenness. Therefore, according to the present invention, a composition including cinnamon oil, benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde as an active ingredient can be practically used for a natural pesticide or a fertilizer additive to control a pathogenic bacterium which causes rottenness in the fruit of a Cucurbitaceae crop. Especially, according to the present invention, cinnamon oil, and benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde which is a main ingredient of the cinnamon oil are substances derived from a plant body and thus can environment-friendly control bacteria.
