The present invention provides anti-MCAM antibodies that inhibit the ability of human MCAM to bind to the laminin alpha-4 chain. The present invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions, methods of producing such antibodies, and their use in the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, or cancers.
