Disclosed are a device for determining the dredging of a debris barrier and a method thereof. The device for determining the dredging of the debris barrier according to the present invention comprises: a collecting unit to collect state information by pre-investigation regarding an area to be dredged; a discrimination unit to determine a proposed area to be dredged for debris barrier by using a debris barrier dredging reference value which is calculated based on the collected state information and to determine a final area to be dredged for debris barrier by using a result which inspects a debris barrier dredging infrastructure among the determined proposed areas; and a storage unit to store the collected state information and the determined final area to be dredged for debris barrier.
