According to the present invention, disclosed are a system and a method for evaluating performance of an imaging device of an intelligent transportation system. The system for evaluating performance of the imaging device of the intelligent transportation system (ITS) installed at a highway tollgate includes: an evaluation reference photographing device for generating an evaluation reference image for performance evaluation of the ITS imaging device by photographing a vehicle passing through the highway tollgate; and a performance analysis device for evaluating recognition performance of the ITS imaging device by comparing a monitoring image transferred from the ITS imaging device with the evaluation reference image in real-time.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
