The present invention relates to a titanium dioxide nanoparticle comprising a carrier non-metallic mineral material and a titanium nanoparticle layer loaded on said carrier, said layer comprising a plurality of titanium dioxide nanoparticles, said titanium dioxide nanoparticles being composed of a plurality of titanium dioxide nanosingle granules A composite material is disclosed. The present invention also discloses a composite material loaded with one or more layers of functional layers in the nanosized titanium dioxide layer. The composite material not only exhibits the high refractive index and high coating power of the titanium nano dioxide layer but also exhibits good photocatalytic activity of the small nano single granules and can easily coat other functional layers to produce functional reinforced or multifunctional composite materials . The present invention also provides a method for producing the composite material, which process is simple and low in cost. The composite material of the present invention can be used as an additive in various industrial fields, and has good compatibility.
