The present invention relates to novel 3-hydroxyimino-2-oxoindoline-based N-hydroxypropeneamide compounds or 3-methoxyimino-2-oxoindoline-based N-hydroxypropeneamide compounds and their use as active ingredients As an anticancer agent. The hydroxamic acid compound of the present invention has a strong histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitory activity and exhibits proliferation inhibitory activity against various cancer cells. The compounds of the present invention can be developed as active ingredients of potent anti-cancer agents.
