The present invention relates to a method for promoting plant growth or biomass increase, and more particularly, to a method for promoting plant growth or biomass increase by overexpressing CBR1 (Cytochrome b5 reductase 1). As a result of confirming the effect of improving the growth, cold weather or salt stress resistance in the CBR1 over-expressing seeds or plants of the present invention, it is expected that it can be usefully used for improvement of crops available to human beings.
