1. A method of producing a solid polymer with luminescent nanoparticles embedded in the polymer, comprising the following process steps: (1) mixing (i) luminescent nanoparticles having an outer surface coated with protective molecules containing a first functional group and a second functional group, and (ii) a precursor solid polymer, and (2) enabling the formation of a solid polymer, so that a solid polymer with embedded nanoparticles is obtained; in which the first functional group is formed so that interact with the outer surface of the quantum dot, and the second functional group has one or more functions selected from the group consisting of (a) miscibility with the solid polymer precursor and (b) the ability to react with the solid polymer precursor, where the protective molecules include two types protective molecules, where the first functional group of the first type of protective molecules contains a metal ion having coordination functionality and where the first functional group of the second type of protective molecules has the function alnost base Lyuisa.2. The method according to claim 1, in which the molar ratio of the protective molecules of the first type and the protective molecules of the second type is in the range of 0.8-1.2.3.
