FIELD: transport.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric locomotives and motor cars. Electric train comprises head and trailer cars with DC or AC 3-11 traction motors and power of up to 500-1,800 kW, supplied by catenary system. Every DC electric motor is connected with AC circuit through current collector, connected with transformer, with thyristor converters, with excitation winding, with solenoid and with storage batteries. Each AC traction electric motor is connected with AC circuit through current collector, connected with transformer, with thyristor converters, with independent voltage inverter (IVI), with IVI control system and independent voltage rectifier (IVR) control system. IVI control system in traction mode operates as inverter, and in braking mode IVI switches to rectifier mode. IVR in traction mode operates in rectifier mode while in braking mode IVR switches to inverter mode. Each stator winding of asynchronous electric motor is connected with separate 1-10 high-capacity capacitors banks.;EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of energy saving and environmental friendliness of vehicle.;1 cl, 3 dwg
