A method for increasing the range of a vehicle that is driven by an electric motor is described. The method includes determining that a level reserve of an energy storage device of the vehicle is to be used for the operation of the electric motor. The level reserve is outside of a designated for the energy storage level range. The method further comprises, in response, using electrical energy from the fill level reserve of the energy store to operate the vehicle's electric motor.
