The invention consists of a body structure (100) of the vehicle and a method of assembling such a structure for an armored vehicle comprising at least two panels of the shielding (1 and 2) of great thickness, assembled to one another and forming an angle relative to one another, which structure is characterized in that the first (1) and the second (2) panels each comprise a profile (7a and 7b) able to assemble the first panel (1) with the second panel (2) by the matching shapes, the profile (7a) of the first panel (1) being situated in the vicinity of one end of the first panel (1) and comprising at least one groove parallel to this end and arranged on one of the faces of the first panel (1), the profile (7b) of the second panel (2) comprising a groove intended to receive the end of the first panel (1) and at least one edge of this groove forming a lip corresponding with the groove of the first panel (1), the groove of the first panel (1) and the groove of the second panel (2) being open out on at least one of the sides of the panels (1 and 2) in which they are made.
