The method of manufacturing a hybrid wheel made of light alloy, in particular based on aluminum or magnesium, comprising a front flange (2) and a rim (1) capable of being secured by friction stir welding using of a pin implements the following different operating phases: - the flange (2) is made with an internal profile (2a) capable of constituting a tire bead seat, - the rim (1) is made with, from one side, an external profile (la) adapted to constitute a tire bead seat, and on the other side, a circular assembly flank (1b) with a portion (2b) of the flange (2), - assemble the flange (2) with the rim (1), at the seat (2a) of said flange (2) and the circular flank (1b) of the rim (1).
