The present invention relates to a content recommendation system and method that is optimized for cross-domain recommendation by enabling the issuing of a recommendation for related content at a particular appropriate timing. The system according to the invention enables to take into account current broadcast content, past and future programs available from a service network such as a catch-up service and the user's viewing history. For example, it is judged whether available content should be recommended during or after watching the current broadcast content.
