The invention relates to a method for assembling or/and producing a frictionally operating device. Said method encompasses the following steps: a first set (2) of friction disks comprising several friction disks (4, 6, 8) is provided; the thickness of the friction disks (4, 6, 8) is measured at several measurement points that are offset relative to one another in the circumferential direction (12, 14); a first point (54) where the individual friction disk (4, 6, 8) is thickest and a second point (56) where the individual friction disk (4, 6, 8) is thinnest are determined among the measurement points; the position of the first point (54) and the second point (56) is marked with the help of markings (58, 62) on the friction disks (4, 6, 8); and the friction disks (4, 6, 8) of the first set (2) are connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a first disk holder (74) in such a way that a second friction disk (6; 8) of the first set (2) is placed in a rotational position relative to an adjoining first friction disk (4; 6) of the first set (2) in which the first point (54) of the second friction disk (6; 8) is located closest to the second point (56) of the adjoining first friction disk (4; 6), 'closest' being in relation to circumferential direction (12, 14). The invention further relates to a frictionally operating device that is or can be produced according to said method as well as a set (2) of friction disks for such a frictionally operating device.
